They should have gotten harder by sharpening them.

There's side cutters on this site that list a Rockwell hardness. Might be better than those that don't. Those that don't are soft because soft is cheap. You get what you pay for in cutting steels.
If I'm ignoring you it's because you're a fallacy impaired fool. You're simply not worthy of my attention, sorry about your luck.

It may not sharpen them, but it will clean the blade edges which in turn make's them a bit sharper.....cut 'sand paper' with them. It work's with scissor's and garden clipper's really well.
You can also use 'aluminum foil' but 'sand paper' work's better :)

That would work in a pinch but you'd be sharpening the wrong side of the edge.

I have a pair and they are starting to show some wear on the cutting edge.. I assure you I got my $3 worth out of them already and even got to abuse them a little and not put my eye out.. I will probably get something else next time when these go belly up but these are better than nothing..

junk store nail clippers work fine as end-cutters for circuit board assembly. I've got pair of 25 quid Swedish endies somewhere but I can never find 'em when I need 'em so usually pinch the missus's clippers.

Best side cutters I've got, I found in the gutter while out on a country walk. Surface rusted. I took them home and scrubbed 'em up. Outperform everything I've got. Knurled, not insulated handles though so can't use them for everything.

You can sharpen side cutters once or twice if you use a $20 diamond stone but then they go out of tolerence and you have to reinvest your.... 3 bucks?
Good Idea - transfering extremely hot Mad Dog 357 chilli sauce to dropper-type, e-liquid bottle. Bad Idea - keeping it with other e-liquid bottles...

It isn't the three bucks that had me sharpen mine it's the month wait for a new pair. I used a large cutoff wheel on my dremel tool to sharpen the last pair I had, I've bought better since.

These cutters are designed to cut COPPER wire, which is quite a bit softer than Kanthal.
They work but you have to expect them to become blunt sooner than if used on copper wire.
Steel wire cutters would be better for our needs but they are usually much larger.

There are these chrome-vanadium ones. i've also been eyeing this pair.

Decent nail clippers around here are more expensive than these little snippers on FT.
