I always wiggle the wire as well. It does two things, the first is to get it to be close to the deck. The second, is to make sure the leads are properly. If the coil wiggles while you're trying to break the lead, then you didn't tighten the screw enough. Sometimes you wiggle and it will dislodge a bit. Wiggling is a must for me. It makes for a secure connection.
