Recently I used this on my batteries, and installation took approximately 30 sec for each battery with a hairdryer. Few times didn't sucess with first attempt, so had to re-process the same battery a couple of times. After the process noticed that the battery is quite warm. My experience tells me that of the two Samsung 25r cells that crapped out on me both had been re-wrapped using a hair dryer. It's never happened to me with a cell that wasn't re-wrapped. They didn't melt, explode or vent. They just both started not holding a charge. Could be coincidence or bad luck.... I've re-wrapped a lot of cells and only had a problem twice. Make of that what you will. More sense than money..... Working...

For batteries applications, the heat exposure time must be keept at its minimum. Recommended temperature for shrinking is 100 to 120°C. Using a < 70°C heat source (hairdrier) will work, but you will have to apply it for too long. If you dont have a suitable hot air gun you can use a lighter or a candle.
