I just write directly on to the power cell with a sharpie before re-wrapping it. No added thickness that way.
Same here, and so far I only have Samsung 25Rs so all I do is number them anyway. lol Now, if I buy another brand then yeah, I'd add the maker, but still just with sharpie on the bare can before wrapping. I also love the bare metal DeLorean-ish look anyway.
I almost bought the clear... glad I bought the transparent blue... Not sure but, it appears it would be hard to see a compromised wrap with the clear.
The only stuff I have is a big roll of the clear so it is all I use and in person it is really not to hard to see if the wrap is damaged. I suppose you would have to look a little more closely than at a blue one but honestly not too hard to see. I tried to wrap one with paper wrapper after reading this post and I had a hard time getting the wrapper over the paper. It turn out alright looking when finished but I don't think I will attempt it again.
