The base prices keep going up, though. Cheap to do, simple, tastes good.

For monsters, at least, getting the monster mini slam cap kit may be cheaper SKU 3893500.

You get the base, a chimney, and the slam cap, for just about a dollar more than just the base itself. The driptip that comes with it is fairly useless, though, IMO.

I agree 100% with ShelaghStone and strongly suggest the pico. It's a mod that is great for both beginners and for more experienced vapers. But it is a mod that you need an 18650 battery for. But well worth it. I've been vaping for several years and I absolutely love my pico mods. I have several of them and use them everyday.

Now for the tank, If you want a mouth to lung hit that you would Vape similar to a cigarette then the nautilus is a good one. If you want a direct lung hit then I would say something like a Subtank mini. That's just my 2 cents. Good luck! 🍀😇
I would like to say a great big thank you to everyone who is helpful and willing to share their experience and knowledge about vape gear.... :) So glad to be here!

I must have missed the submit post button this morning.

A thought would be to avoid manufactured coils being your expressed concern with shipping being so slow. I started building coils very shortly after buying my first tanks manly because of the inconsistency in coils manufactured at the time as well as shipping, coil expense and being a cheap skate.

An easy to build tank like the Kayfun V5 may be a good direction as I like the air flow adjustments, it's easy to build coils for and it can be completely disassembled for cleaning. Mating the V5 with the Pico previously mentioned wouldn't be a bad coice and the Q30 batteries have been good to me so far.

With that said I worked with a guy that has the Kanger kit and it served him well too.

vape pen to sub ohm ? oh dear

Don't be stupid. I went from ego/ce4 to mvp2/iclear 30s to mech mods/rda's in my 2nd week of vaping.

wish I never wasted money on the mvp2 but thanks to stupid advice like "newcomers have to have a cigarette like experience" "newcomers shouldn't use mech mods" etc
I hated the mvp2/iclear in under a week, it was just so mediocre/awful & hated the ego/ce4 even quicker, in 2 or 3 days but I knew there was better out there having researched/seen videos.

This person has been vaping 3 months, they have bound to have seen the odd video & obviously know what they want. Give positive, fact based advice encouragement which kyugo is doing an excellent job of (kudos to them) not nonsensical, baseless discouragement.

You need 5 things.

Wire (typically kanthal), Wire snips, Cotton (I recommend a bag of Muji direct from the muji website), an Ohm's reader/meter (see below) and something to wrap the wire around to create a coil. (I'd recommend using a coiler such as the UD coil jig :-

Ohm's reader
521 Tab Mini V3 Styled Digital Atomizer Resistance Tester
SKU 6708500 $10.66

NOTE this uses 1x18650 battery. You will need a charger also if using 18650's. I'd recommend a "Nitecore D2" charger.

Authentic UD Stainless Steel Wire Coiling Jig Tool
SKU 2555100 $8.55

wire snips
these look good, recently listed.
Iwodevape Stainless Steel Diagonal Pliers for E-Cigarettes

SKU 6730902 $3.45

Of course there are 100's to choose from, I own these and they have worked flawlessly for 2 years thus far.:-
YTH-109 Professional Diagonal Cutting Pliers
SKU 1244001 $3.15

I found them cheaper elsewhere but $3 is an ok price.

Now wire. see comment below this.

re : Kanthal A1 I'd suggest buying 26 gauge first. Then depending on your preference buy thicker or thinner wire. (32, 30, 28, 24, 22 even 20 gauge but there is no hurry) stick with 26 gauge and see how you like it.

also bookmark http://www.steam-engine.org/

particularly:-
http://www.steam-engine.org/ohm.asp
&
http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp

and watch as many videos regarding ohm's law and coil building as you can.

also educate yourself on Batteries
The perfect video to watch is this :-

Re wire this might be a good purchase as it works out extremely cheap and will give you wire that you can use 6 months + down the line when you have more knowledge.

SKU 3986400 $13.46
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10014903/3986400-authentic-youde-ud-heating-wire-box-for

although you can buy that later, it depends how confident you feel. If not that confident then just buy 1 spool of 26 gauge Kanthal A1. see below.

Authentic UD Kanthal A1 Heating Wire for Rebuildable Atomizers 26 AWG / 0.4mm*10m / 11.3ohm

SKU 2675200 $2.04
