Kanthal A1 wire MTL ohms for dvarw...
For 5 wraps on a 3mm coil, it works out to ~1.1 Ohms. For something similar in stainless steel 316L (SKU 3237600), 7 wraps on a 3mm coil, it works out to ~0.8 Ohms. There is less vapor with the Kanthal, but it's a perfectly good MTL vape and the bonus is a bit better battery life if you vape in this ohmic range.

Ni 80 gives pretty much the same ohms with 5 wraps on a 3mm.

I found that UD kanthal would leech a discolouration of sorts after about a week

I never noticed till I got some clear juice.

Are you sure it isn't just oxidisation? After a week with my ADV it produces the same result with both SS and A1.

The only thing different is how much is recycled back into the tank for different atomisers, but by then, I'm ready to rebuild and wick.

I figured it would be something like that, but Kanthal is supposed to be highly resistant to oxidation. All I know for sure is Ni80 doesn't do it and with clear juice, I can go 4-6 weeks with out a rebuild or wick .. and it's still good.

I mean oxidation of the nicotine in the liquid, but I'll try some Ni80 (next order) and see if I have the same results. If it has the same resistance as Kanthal, I don't see any down side to using it.

Ni80 doesn't have the same resistance as Kanthal, it's just a hair more than 75%. You can take up most of the slack with an extra wrap, though, and the ramp-up time will be just about the same.

I also think that it depends on the juice you're using. With the DVARW MTL and clear juices (Menthol/Citrus flavouring) I can easily do 120ml without having to rewick it.

I prefer to use 27 AWG Kanthal because I can build a larger coil (8 wraps around 2.5mm - 1.2 Ohm) and it still gives me good flavour and throat hit at 9 Watt (3.3V). Works well with a mech mod because I know exactly when my battery reaches low power.

I'm using 5-7 wraps 28-29AWG≈0,3mm wire on a 2,5mm coil for 1,2mm AFC in Dvarw on 9-12W power in MTL.
(3mm is too wide for this AFC diameter - because of the cooling air direction)
It's about 1~1.2 Ohms with Kanthal 'A' which contains 9,8% AL (A1=19,8%) = No oxidation out the wire in wet temperature (180-220C). I never burn out the spaced coil. 6 wraps is the optimal because of the lenght of the coil to cool down the two end of the coil.

Some coil build recomendation for DL at 15w - 20w with the 2.5mm air insert?

Actually i'm using 7 spaced wraps on NI80 26 AWG at 20w but there is a disgusting spit back.
