FT didn't list that kit, only that lame RDA. (goon V4) I sent a request today, but there's very little chance that they would source only the mod... the fff site and ffdeal have them.

It works well, switch is great, but it's a delicate mod as well. For battery rattle you could read in the other thread. (solved) Spring is not fixed so one has to be careful that it's placed centred. I didn't short it, but for an hour or so, the whole mod/RDA kept being strangely warm and suddenly the battery went off. (got drained out) Till I realised what was the matter. All is good now.

For the paint: time will tell :)

Actually, the resin tube is at least 1mm too tall as it is.

If it were possible to take apart the delrin and brass part and sand down a bit, you could win a mm too.


That's what I'm thinking about doing.

After measuring a bit, I'd say you'd need to take off 1-1.5mm from the tube and the same from the delrin/brass part it would just be a charm.

I tried using the top brass battery cap from the Tomahawk X and forget the brass contact, but it didn't work as, then, the 510 pin was too short to make contact. But I think it's a step in the right direction.

As for the goon, I'm curious to buy it just to see if the parts could mix...
Anyways, I'm on holidays this week so I think I'll just get the dremel out and try some modding!

I wouldn't mind a brass and resin one but.... "resin + brass/copper (random) / random colors". This random tube material and random resin sleeve colour is getting ridiculous. What's next, random parts?

Yeah, just like another best place did a buy one get one free deal recently... Trick was their deals looked like Buy a 55$ mod and get a pack of 20 batt. wraps for free. Huh.

Received it. (Post seems to be very fast these days) =)
Of course, wasn't lucky with the resin, I would've been happier with anything but purple and yellow, lol
Anyway I was prepared to that.
It definitely won't become a very popular piece, needs some fiddling and precautions to put it together.

So, that was about my idea: just found and old 18500 SS tube, about a mil shorter for it. It works, it doesn't short =D but the little brass pin warms up quite a bit, so needs to figure out how to insulate it correctly.





If someone is in love with purple and ready to swap his/hers to mine, are very welcome ! =)

Looks nice with ss. I did manage to shorten the tube and delrin piece by about 1mm each and it reduced the gap and isn't autofiring. I will try to remove another 1mm. (Maybe less though, the gap is about 0.6mm now).
Where is your ss tube from?
