A Re-wrap of...
Given that Efest doesn't (and never has) made it's own cells, I wonder what this actually is a re-wrap of?

It's also worth mentioning that USD 12.21 isn't particularly cheap, when they can be had for about seven quid a pop here in the UK.

It's twelve inches long, but don't use it as a rule...

Nah. The 30Q is 3000 mAh I believe. So the question remains.

It's china... 3500mAh means 1500mAh or less... There was a time FT tested the battery capacity and stated true capacity in the listings... Did they stop the practice?

That's just prejudicial generalising. One finds both good and bad. This particular cell is marked as authentic.

No idea. This particular cell was only put up today.

My guess, and it is most certainly a guess, is that these are either re-wrapped Sanyo, or more likely Molicel batteries. I think the Molicels just showed up in the last year or so, so it may have just taken efest a while to start wrapping their batches.

I think I found it:
Efest Purple 20A 3500mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...just another rewrapped 10A battery

Bottom Line: This Efest is a rewrap, identical in appearance and performance to the Panasonic 10A/3300mAh NCR18650GA. Both the Efest's current and capacity ratings are exaggerated. At 20A continuous this cell gets hot enough to boil water, 111°C.

Not the same pictures... but probably the same battery ... probably they just changed the wrap over time since this is a 6years old test. The old said 20A... now it's says 10A and 20A for pulsing... there's a ton o better options for 15~20A batteries. Also I think this is overpriced.

The thing about Efest, is that they've always been 'batch wrappers'. They re-wrap whatever's available at the time. A good cell from twelve months ago will have a different battery under the same wrap this year.

Although I used their 18490/500s a few years ago (and in fairness never had a bad one), I've always avoided their other cells, because of Efest's source inconsistency.

And in 2022, with the unlimited supply of Murata and Molicel here in the UK, there's little reason for me to look at anything else tbh.

No it's fact... This one is marked 600mAh... It's physically impossible...

The Trustfire you linked to is a much smaller 10440 battery, hence the low capacity. But as it's a Trustfire cell if will probably have less than half the claimed capacity. They're notoriously bad.
