I've owned a SnowCap Ravine mech boro mod. It's... okay. I didn't jive with how it felt in my hand. It also didn't feel very solid to me but that's subjective, I guess. If you want a 21700 mech boro, the Cherrypine Sequoia or Oak are the best ones going. My new Oak arrives today.

The internals are cleverly made, have to give that.
That black one still has an acceptable look. I just don't like that those logos/designs are far too much determining (especially when they just don't meet one's taste) and they have some bad choices of mixing colours or coming up with these marble effects.

Then it justifies the 180$ lol

Huh thanks for letting us know, someone might be interested, I'm not. (for the reasons mentioned above)

Got 2 in order (BXR and ION), recently had some others, I'm done with buying mods for the moment :))

MK Mods mech boro showed up today. Pretty nice for $56. My only concern is how the plated contacts will survive.

If you get one of these, make sure all the hardware is tightened well. The threaded collar shown in the pic became loose in mine. Still fired but was very weak which led me to discover the issue. Snugged it back up and it's running great.

The positive leaf contact is already exhibiting some pitting from what I assume is from arcing. I put some DeoxIT Gold on the contact area to hopefully slow any surface deterioration. Cheap plated contacts don't usually stand the test of time. These probably would be better with just raw copper contacts.

And, lastly, the two piece doors are kind of stupid. I guess they designed it this way to show off your battery wrap?

Time will tell how well this little guy holds up.

Yeah, plain copper contact plates (or even brass) would be far better. Also I hope that ModMaker or some other company will get to make those threaded contacts for mech boro mods. So the most valuable part here is the case and the threaded part for the drip tip nut.
For 15-30$ it'd be a great deal. (just like the Octopus squonkers used to be) ;)
But still it's a bit bugging - ya know, condensation etc., bumpy shaky small countryside roads and all that... =) - that behind the tank there's the bare battery, right there, nice and snug...in direct neighbourhood
...is there a little space for to glue some thin plate there? lol!

I'd love a white delrin mech and to make some nice doors for it, but maybe smth better will come out in the future.

The threaded contact in this mod is "styled" after the Reset mech boro threaded contact, which is much higher quality. No surprise there, I guess.

Reset contacts:

Yeah, that contact looks utterly sophisticated and complicated ;-) Some threaded parts and some other details of machining.
...thinking of dozens of sub $30 or even sub $20 mech tube mods' switches here in the (not so far) past. Some pretty good ones among them. (sure, meaning clones)
