Small *cree flashlights
Bought an "atomic beam" flashlight the other day and it os bright as fuck. Seen knockoffs at the store today and seen they are not bright at all...

The atomic is advertised with a cree led.

My question is if anyone can point me to a small one that is just as bright. Maybe 18350 too. This one uses 18650s but looks to fit 20700s too so there is alot extra room/rattle. Id like somthing smaller :/ plus this "5 modes" pisses me off, it switches everytime i turn it on. So i have to keep clicking everytime i shut it off so next time i use it, it is on "mode 1" just full brightness and no medium/low/strobe/SOS bullshit.

Yeah I bought a couple of 18500 cree ones off the bay.
as about half the size of my 18650 ones .
And imo brighter, but they only have 3 feature button dim ,bright and flash .without that shite Sox malarky 😋
Size wise perfect for handle bar mount with simple rubber band mounts that came with them .😋
I told you so !free at last

The link below has a bunch of "18350" sized Convoy lights (The gray ones not the blue ones) with varying brightness levels.

EDIT LMAO I forgot the link. https://www.fasttech.com/search?convoy%20s2%2B%2018350

The Convoy lights can be set to just 3 modes of brightness and no blinking modes, or 5 modes with strobe and SOS. They will also "remember" the last mode used and start in the same mode next time you use it. Btw, some of those Convoys will be brighter than your atomic beam.

Example > If you want medium mode only, click it on, go to mid mode, stay in that mode for at least 2 seconds, and it will come back on in mid mode.

If the Atomic beam light goes to the next mode every time you turn it on, (shut it off in low mode, comes back on in mid mode etc) there might be a very simple fix for that. If you have to click thru all the modes to turn it off, no fixes that I know of besides changing the driver.

I've run one of these little Uinfire B68 torches for years now, uses a 14500 li-ion battery. Not the latest and greatest, but it's tough, tiny, and I paid $6 for it.

https://www.fasttech.com/product/1278403-uinfire-b68-cree-xp-e-r2-240-lumen-1-mode-zooming

Any decent Cree emitter will destroy a LED torch utterly, even the cheep ones.

The B68 will throw the image of the emitter against the wall at about 20' if ya focus it down. Single-mode. Blinding in dark hallway..just ask my ex-neighbor. ;-)

Cree is a company, they make a LOT of different emitters. CPF and BLF are your friends there for research.

I know, they are both LED types. I should have been more specific.

I meant like this non-Cree standard LED type:

Looking for something with a clear view up to 100ft. The zoom feature is nice, but not necessary as long as its not a super wide angle of light. The atomic beam was labeled as "1200 lumens" but changed to 5000 lux. Im guessing its maybe 800-1000 lumens? Im looking for that kind of brightness.

It sounds like you want a spot for your air rifle. :P

Something that draws 2-3A in one mode maybe? That's a lot of light. With a smooth reflector. I've seen some with a remote switch.

airbagz is right though, most of the convoy range have a mode memory so it switches one mode on/off only.

Yep.

Already tried an old 2 led AA flashlight that fit perfect in the scope/laser rings, but its way not bright enough to see our back fence 70ft away.

Koehler-Bright Star 4AA Responder

Yeah, it's outside your specs but it'll range as far as most can shoot a .22 off hand.
Edit:
If you're looking for small a search for 16340 flashlights would be my suggestion.
