Praxis mech (oldtimers)
Hi, I found a source for cheap SS praxis and I always liked that mod.
So to all old-timers that still own it, or have used it for years... Is it still worthy?

My daily drivers are alu centipede and copper switch smpl. Sometimes ennequadro but after a day's worth of use my thumb is tired and I need to take a break. All of them are super hard hitters and I don't really need another one unless it's as hard hitting with a button that doesn't tire me as ennequadro.

So, is praxis it as hard hitting as smpl and can I modify the switch (polish, replace spring, whatever needed) to make it working soft and smoothly? I don't mind the dual action, I care only about hardness

Yes it hits as hard as a SMPL. idk if you can modify the switch, I prefer it as is.

Yeah, I got one, or pieces of one, somewhere...I remember it being decent for it's time.

What does he mean when he says words?

Don't touch the switch, the delrin piece is press fit and can easily pop out, never to be able to be returned inside.

One arrived like that, they sent a replacement, but I couldn't trust it enough to use it outside the home, so I rarely used it at all. Why? Because of the eventual heating during the prolonged use and the delrin piece popping out, I could never have a peace of mind.

Thanks I'll have to think about that. I found a video that shows a complete disassembly. I could modify it to the softness I'd like but yeah who knows if the delring piece will take that abuse and for how long

edit: what about that hole on the delring? Could you reach the grub screw that holds the bottom piece through there and avoid popping it out?

Ahhh VW. Yes, I'm definitely getting that one too sometime.

To anyone owning a praxis, if it's not too much trouble, could you please check if you can align the hole on the delring and get that grub screw underneath it off, without removing it? No need to actually attempt it, just you reckoning.

$1.00 rebate earned
Hi 4C2O. If it's from the same place or else, but I've got recently a praxis (with a Quasar RDA) for 7$. It performs very well but it's much harder to use than a SMPL. (especially, if I remember well, if you have some tendon or other problems) When chain vaping and you find the right angle with the right pressure, it becomes more handy, but sometimes it reminds a struggle. I mean, it just started buggering me that always had to pay attention, what i was doing with. But I couldn't say that I insisted vaping uniquely on it for weeks to break it in, only used it for about 3 weeks altering with other gears.

On the other side, the VW is a delight.

ps: had no idea about that grubs crew, I'll check it

On the delrin the only existing hole is what you see there. But it's it easy to pop it out for to see the rest. I didn't go further with dismantling. Pushing the switch side-way it's rather smooth, what makes more difficult to fire the mod, is the friction between the switch part and the cut on the tube.

But i had the nice surprise that it's already much smoother than it was maybe a month ago.
