Optimal resistance for haku venna.
My first RDA purchase and i pick up a haku venna.
My limited wire collection consisting of round wires down to 26 gage in both SS31L and Kanthal A1, didn't gave me that warm saturated vape and the flavor is muted.
I would like to try some clapton wire but i' m clueless on what i should choose that will give me a good taste vape and will not push my Samsung 30Q batteries to much since they are 2 years old already.
What resistance, watts and ID should i look for?

If you're using a regulated mod with buck boost circuitry then you don't really need to worry too much about coil resistance as you can set the wattage you want.

As it is a 22mm RDA I wouldn't look at very complex multi core coils like Aliens/Staple Staggered Fused Stuntman Coils as it looks like they won't fit under the screws - also they will need lots of power, get as hot as hell and push your batteries too hard.

Personally I would look at 'semi-complex' coils like dual core fused claptons. 2 wires that I use in attys like this is 2-26/36 or 2-26/38 Ni80. A single coil 4 wraps will ohm out at about 0.30 ohms, 5 wraps at around 0.37. Or
2-28/36 or 2-28/38 SS316L - the ohms will be in a similar ohm range to the Ni80 above.

Any of these coils will run fine between 30 to 45 Watts.

Which wires are the best for a certain application is down to personal choice and these may not to be everyones taste they work for me.

If your batteries are 2 years old you really should replace them as they are probably past their best.

I forgot to mention - the internal diameter of the coils I listed is 3mm.

5 wraps on SKU 9640294 works like a charm for me. 2.5mm ID.

Ni80 aliens,claptons,braids at around .2 is optimum if using the airflow wide open. i've built as low as .17 with no ill effects besides a warm cap when chain vaping.

When using 30q (which i do- A LOT), keep in mind that they are "true" 20 amp cells, despite the conservative 15 amp rating on their spec sheet. Either way, a .2 build will put you in the safe range and give a great vape. This is assuming you are using a mech or a mosfet mod. A regulated mod allows you to build higher (and safer, I suppose) which will lower your wattage setting and save battery life.

The Haku Venna is a bona fide classic, in the top ten of best rdas ever made, IMO. I have two 22mm Vennas: One has a Ni80 fused clapton, 2.5mm ID, with a resistance of .19. Vapes great on a mech, but again, with 30Q a .2 is really as low as you should go...that's around 20 amps, which the 30Q handles fine.

My other Venna stays on a regulated squonk, and is built much higher, to allow for battery life and the max 60 or 75 watts of the chip used. Because of that ceiling, I tend to build around .4 or higher, so I can keep my wattage at a reasonable 40-50 watts max. I still use Ni80 for the fast firing, and I still use complex (3 or more wires) coils for vibrant flavor reproduction. The great thing about the Venna is it was meant to be a bit "rowdy"...there's room for thick legs to pass through, and lots of room for the coil, and wicking, to sit...Great choice!

I don't own a Venna - I've looked at the pics and assumed (obviously incorrectly) that it would be tricky to get thicker legs in and the airflow would be RDL.

'meant to be a bit "rowdy"', 'there's room for thick legs to pass through' - you are playing my favourite song Sir.

Dammit - now I want one...

thank you all for the suggestions.
I have a 80w regulated 1x18650 mod.
I consider myself an MTL style vaper and i see all these super low resistances pretty scary!
You thing i should i go with the spool or the premade ones?

@Crispycritters
great choices i thing thanks a lot!

@Gatok
i run it in the ''Wire wizard'' and gives me a 0.423Ω for a 1mm spaced coil, am i right?

@carrion
Can you point any of these wires for me please?
After 2 years of usage, i consider these 30q as 15 amps at most if not lower, just playing on the safe side.
With batteries i like to go around 70% of their continues current as per Mooch, if i remember correctly and that will bring me around 35 to 40w top, i thing.

I would call this rda a direct lung draw for sure, but there is restriction- just nothing close to MTL in it's fully open setting. I consider it almost a perfect draw, very natural, not loud at all.

@hellfire: Okay, you use single cell regulated mods, huh? You're in great shape, there are tons of good coils at the .5 resistance area, which is a breeze for those old 30Qs!

I'm gonna find you a few examples and post links, others can do the same....a .5 coil would need around only 40 watts max, which allows you to really take advantage of the chip. Good luck!
