It seems from the mixed reviews that batches are now varying in quality. The three that I received were unusable. Perhaps if I spent time and switched out all the 0-rings, insulators and screws, I may get them working, but life's too short. I have ordered three genuine Kanger RBA's.

I feel that this mod is now being offered at its true value, any higher and it would be overpriced given its shortcomings. There are plenty of reports stating that the 510 is fragile, so I fitted a 22mm heatsink/threadsaver before use to avoid any future problem. There is no usb charging which makes the awkward battery cap annoying as it has to be used often. The pre-set wattage levels are restrictive but accurate and acceptable for a mod of this price. The paint coating is unlikely to last long without chipping. With all of that said and at this price, it is a cheap no-frills mod that does the job it's made for. How long it will last, we'll have to wait and see.

This fires up to 20 watts and has a lower resistance limit of 1 ohm. It actually fires at .9 ohm with no problems. Unlike some other mods with very similar specs, the MVP20 actually delivers the wattage you set. The MVP20 is very well built with good 510 threads and a spring loaded pin. The button is firm but comfortable. The protruding on-off switch (on the base) of the previous MVP2 has been shortened. Wattage can only be adjusted upward. At 20 watts it returns to the beginning. The display screen certainly looks old-hat now, but it does everything it needs to. To me it is preferable to the whistles and bells of some mods, especially when they display one thing and deliver something entirely different. If you vape below 20 watts and wrap your coils at .9 or above, then you would do well to consider this device. I think it will outlast much of the competition. To summarise - excellent value for money.

I have a few of these and they have taken over from my ageing Picos. I like the chip, especially the pulse feature, it works well for me at low wattage. I do not use TC so cannot comment.

I have been coiling for 4 years on precision screwdrivers and whilst serviceable, my coils were never a work of art. This piece of kit changed that. The Coil Master really is very good indeed and turns out nigh on perfect coils every time. It is well made and very simple to use. The price with MAP code applied makes it good value.
